What is hCG Diet?

What is the hCG Diet?

The hCG Diet was actually designed back in the 1950’s by a British doctor named Dr. ATW Simeons. He discovered the hCG Diet Protocol that involves the use of hCG normally found in pregnant women and combined with a very low calorie diet (VLCD). People who followed Dr. Simeons’ diet protocol saw an average weight loss of 1 pound per day. The hCG Diet Protocol is safe for both men and women.

What Dr. Simeons discovered is the best way to drop weight quickly and to keep it off by following a maintenance stage for an additional 3 to 6 weeks. This protocol has helped thousands of people to keep the weight off. It works on 99.5% of the people who stick to it for the whole period. If you are serious about losing weight, the HCG diet protocol is for you.

Over the years, the HCG Diet has undergone a few changes. It starts out with phase 1, which is a cleansing stage to get you ready for the diet. Then it is followed with phase 2. This involves two gorge or load days where you can eat all the fatty foods you crave for two days. you start taking the hCG drops or hCG pellets at the beginning of this phase. Next you go on the VLCD part of the diet and stay on it for 21 to 42 days. This is where you see the pounds melt away. During phase 3 of the diet, you stop taking the HCG drops and eat a balanced diet of around 1500 to 2000 calories a day with the goal of staying within 2 pounds of your ending weight on phase 2. Do this for 3 to 6 weeks and this will reset your metabolism and hypothalamus gland to keep your weight at the new level.

If you have a lot of weight to lose, you can repeat the diet starting with phase two after taking 6 weeks off between rounds and do it all over again. So give the hCG diet a try, you will be happy with your results.

This in not how I learned the phases, and most people on other HCG web sites do not use this terminology for the phases. Phase 1 consists of 2 – 3 days of loading on fats while taking the HCG drops. Phase 2 begins the 500 calorie diet (VLCD) while taking the HCG drops. This continues for 23-40 days. After the last of the HCG drops are taken you continue the 500 calorie diet for at least 48 hours. After that, begin Phase 3, which is a maintenance period of 3 weeks, where you eat anything but sugars and starches up to 2,000 calories per day. Weigh yourself daily through the whole protocol, but during this time the very day you gain more than 2 lb, you do not eat all day until the evening meal. At that meal you have a large steak and a tomato or an apple. Drink only water all day this steak day. By morning you should have dropped enough weight to put you back to your last weight when you stopped doing the HCG drops. Continue this Phase 3 for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, you go into phase 4 for a minimum of 3 weeks. Eat whatever you want, but weigh yourself every morning and do steak days again if your weight rises more than 2 lb.

Other web sites follow this protocol.

This is NOT the protocol used by thousands on other web sites.
Phase 1 – take HCG and load with fats
Phase 2 – Take HCG and eat 500 cal diet per Dr. Simeon. From 23 to 40 days. At the end of Phase 2 before you stop taking HCG at day 23 (or your choice of ending) you continue to eat only 500 cal per day for at least 2 more days
Phase 3, you eat anything but sugars and starches up to 2,000 cal per day. This is for 3 week minimum.
Phase 4 – Eat normally for at least 3 weeks, continuing to weigh daily and not go over your last weight on HCD by more than 2 pounds. If you go over more than 2 pounds, eat nothing that day that you weigh in until evening meal. Then steak and tomato or apple.

If you use any other explanation of the phases around any other HCGers you will only be confused when they begin talking. You won’t be able to join the conversation sensibly.

Actually, Hcg phase 1 is cleansing,
Phase 2 begins with two load or gorge days while starting the drops, the days 3 through 23 are the 500 calorie VLCD protocol. this can be extended to 43 days if someone wants to diet for six weeks instead of three weeks.
Phase 3 is the maintenance part for 3 to 6 weeks
Phase 4 is the lifestyle change

Hope this is a little clearer.
