What are the Side Effects of Following the hCG Diet?
Some side effects of hCG diet are mild headaches experienced by some people who use hCG diet drops. However, these cases are rare and most people do not experience them at all. Another hCG side effect reported to us is craving for foods you shouldn’t eat on the diet. This is especially common with people who normally eat a lot of sugar in their daily diets. The good news is that it will normally last only a few days and the first week is the hardest to get through. The hCG diet gets a lot easier over time. I experienced this personally and many have reported the same thing to me. Just stick with the diet. As the saying goes with hCG dieters, “you can do anything for just three weeks”. That is true and the end result of the weight lost is well worth the effort.
What I have also been told in the past, is that when you are craving sugar, what your body is really asking for is fruit. This is how we are programmed, to eat mainly vegetables, fruit and some meat for your best health. If you give your body the fruit it is asking for, this will stop the sugar cravings. The good news here again, is that 2 pieces of fruit are permitted daily while on the diet. So make sure not to skip your fruit.
Also in regards to the hunger cravings some may have, I can’t emphasize enough the need to drink your water. I know most of us don’t normally drink 8 glasses of water a day, but it is not optional and is a must while on the hCG diet. When you drink either black coffee or unsweetened tea, you can also count these towards the eight glass requirement. Here is a tip for you, try using flavored Stevia in your water. I personally like the lemon and orange flavors a lot. This will make drinking your water less boring.
While surfing the Internet, you may come across some other side effects mentioned about hCG dieting. Keep in mind that these apply to persons using hCG for pregnancy and not weight loss. The pregnancy hCG injections are different from the Homeopathic hCG drops that you will be using on the hCG weight loss program. There are no serious side effects reported from using hCG drops. In my opinion, it is the safest way to lose weight.

I’m on day 13 and have lost 13 pounds, which is awesome!! However, now I’m noticing that under my tongue…where the drops are administered, is turning blue. I mean under the skin…like blood vessels! Is it ok for their to be a reaction under my tongue? It doesn’t hurt….just curious!
That is interesting, I haven’t heard of that before. The only thing you would be reacting to is the alcohol in the drops. As long as it don’t hurt I wouldn’t be overly concerned about it.
I am on my second day and I feel very tired right after I drop the drops! I am never tired. It feels like I took a tylenol sleep aid. Is this normal? I hate to be tired. I like my high energy self. What is going on???
Are you drinking enough water? I also take a B12 dot found on http://www.myhcgsource.com
I’ve split my fruit & breadstick into a mid day & mid afternoon snack. This helps me keep my energy etc.
detox tea in the AM
water + Fruit + breadstick mid morning snack
veggie + 100grms protein + water – Lunch
tea between lunch & snack
water + Fruit + breadstick mid afternoon snack
water between snack & dinner
veggie + 100grms protein + water – Dinner
tea evening
hope that helps
What is the difference in the drops and the pellets? Do they work and absorb into the body just as fast?
I’m on my 4th day of the diet but 2nd day of the 500 calories a day. so far i have lost 5 pounds and do not feel tired. I drink about 1 gallon of water a day. I take a multi vitamin in the morning and vitamin b 12 during the day. No side effects at all. I feel normal. The only time I really crave food is at night time. Other than that this diet is great and I highly recommend it to anyone trying to lose weight fast. If anyone has any questions email me back at matador6905@yahoo.com
I was on hCG drops for 3 weeks,I droped 15 lb.,now I’m on 500 cal. I would like to know if I want to loose more can I start on the drops again, how soon?
You need to do 3 weeks of maintenance on Phase 3, then you can start another “round” of the hCG diet.
has anyone had a delayed TOM during P2 of the protocol.Mine has already been delayed by a week.
I am on day 4 ( 2nd day of 500 calories) I started having a headache last night and I woke up with one today. I am drinking plenty of water so its not that. I do feel hungry especially in the morning. I ate my fruit after my dinner. Can I do that or do I have to have the snack. I also have not ate the melba toast.
hi, its my frist time trying this and had ? about taking the drops…..it have 1.0ml and 0.5ml on the measure drops where should i full the drops up to 2 know im get the right amount
Ignore the markers on the dropper. When you take the drops, look in a mirror and count the 10 small drops.
Wannna do diet iam on depo pervera shot. Will it effect it?
I have been on the 5oo calorie diet portion of HCG protocol for 18 days and have lost 12 lbs overall. I’m pleased with the results and only plan to do a total of 28 days for my first round, but I have noticed that I am starting to have issues with hunger.
My water intake is more than sufficient. I thought at first it was only “cravings”, but I am starting to become hungry after I’ve had my allotted food for the day…
Is there something I can do for this? Maybe have an extra fruit? or eat 50 cals more in veggies or something?
Suggestions please.
